Welcome

Welcome to Brick Club with Emma!

Brick Club is a safe and nurturing space where children can have fun together while they develop a range of valuable skills. Brick Club offers a low-anxiety and inclusive activity where team-work, problem-solving and communication skills are supported and encouraged.

The Brick-by-Brick programme has been developed by Play Included and endorsed by the LEGO® Foundation. The evidence based from Daniel LeGoff original research has evolved and improved to be wholly inclusive. Dr. Gina Gomez de la Cuesta continued to pioneer LeGoff's original concept of LEGO®-Based Therapy in schools and clinical settings.

Completion of certified Brick-by-Brick training allows the facilitation of Brick Club sessions. Since October 2023, I have been able to offer more children to experience positive social environments where they can build models and as well as confidence and friendships.

Here to Help - Brick by Brick!

I am dedicated to supporting children in their growth—both academically and emotionally. Over the years, I have worked across pre-school and primary education, and in more recent years as a student support, where I’ve had the privilege of guiding children through challenges both big and small.

My practice is grounded in my formal education, with qualifications in Psychology with Child Development, alongside COSCA endorsed training for person and child-centred counselling skills. These foundations allow me to approach every child with empathy, understanding, and strategies that are backed by evidence. I completed my LEGO® training in York (you can read about it in the Blog) and Trauma Informed Practice in January 2024, giving me the insight and tools to create safe, supportive environments where children feel seen and valued.

Alongside my professional experience, being a parent has shown me in very real ways how children learn best when they feel secure, nurtured, and confident. It has also given me first-hand insight into the power of play—particularly through LEGO®. Beyond creativity, I have witnessed how LEGO® offers children the chance to rehearse and repeat vital life skills: coping with emotions, navigating different personalities, solving problems, and collaborating as part of a team.

I believe it is our role—as parents, educators, and professionals—to guide children so they feel capable and confident in facing whatever lies ahead. There are many ways to achieve this, and through my work I aim to facilitate resilience, emotional regulation, and social growth through approaches that are playful yet purposeful.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to create spaces where children can practise, learn, and flourish—so they step into the future not only prepared, but proud of who they are becoming.
